The 4 W’s
If your wedding is formal, the parental units are footing the bill, etc., traditional wording will most often be your opening line. Example: “Mr. and Mrs. John Gaines request the honor of your presence at the marriage of their daughter…”
Throwing the nuptials yourself or it’s a more relaxed occasion, you may opt for modern wording. Example: “Together with their families, Eleanor and Madden invite you to share as they become one…”
Whether your wedding is traditional or modern, fun or formal, your invitation (and wording) sets the tone. Just ensure your are including the 4 W’s: WHO is getting married, WHAT is going on, WHEN it is going down and WHERE the action takes place.
